Mai Shimizu is a textile print designer based in Japan and London. Shimizu uses her skills within print, pattern, and concept design to create and develop her textiles. She makes innovative print illustrations to combine her painting, crafts and digital design knowledge.

Shimizu is inspired by the natural beauty which already exists in everyday life and nature. She strives to achieve and express joy within her print art works.

By using her knowledge of both digital and hand crafted print processes, she creates a wide range of designs which covers seasonal trends and colours. Some of her favourite processes include polychromatic printing, and silk screen printing.
